Über WMBS AM 590
WMBS AM 590 streamt live aus Uniontown PA, United States, auf Tuninga Radio.
Dieser Radiosender bietet ein vielfältiges Programm.
A commercial AM radio station broadcasting at 590 kHz, licensed to Uniontown, Pennsylvania, serving the Uniontown, Pittsburgh, and Morgantown tri-area region. Owned and operated by Fayette Broadcasting Corporation, the station transmits at 1,000 watts around the clock using a two-tower directional antenna at night from its facility on Georges Fairchance Road near U.S. Route 119. Programming follows a full-service adult standards format. The station holds the distinction of being the first to sign on the air in all of Fayette County, doing so on July 15, 1937—the second suburban Pittsburgh-area station to launch in southwestern Pennsylvania, following Greensburg's WHJB in 1934. Notably, the station has remained under continuous family ownership since its inception, a rarity in American broadcasting. Co-founder H.S. Dumbauld's family maintained control through successive generations, with his son Edward holding principal interest until his death in 1997, and nephew Robert Pritts thereafter until his passing in April 2022 at age 89. Brian Mroziak serves as general manager, having ascended to that position at the age of 24—making him among the youngest top radio executives in the country at the time of his appointment. Despite operating without an FM counterpart and serving an audience with an average listener age exceeding 65, the station has maintained a strong presence in its market. An opportunity to acquire an FM license arose following the 2001 bankruptcy liquidation of Uniontown-licensed WPQR-FM, though the station did not pursue that property.
