Dieser Radiosender bietet ein vielfältiges Programm.

A noncommercial freeform FM radio station owned and operated by the trustees of Stanford University. Broadcasting at 90.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 500 watts, it is one of the longer-running university radio stations in the United States, having first broadcast on January 6, 1947, under the informal call letters KSU. The station originally operated as an AM carrier-current broadcaster, carrying its signal over the university's steam tunnel network at 590 kHz, later 880 kHz. Its early programming included popular music, classical music, local cultural events, talk shows, and radio plays. A 1958 FCC raid, prompted by interference with KGO-AM, forced the station off the air for two years. When broadcasting resumed in the fall of 1960, the FCC required adoption of the KZSU call sign. A noncommercial FM license followed in 1964, with transmitter relocation to the Stanford foothills in 1970 and a power upgrade to 500 watts in 1978. Governance is handled by a board of directors appointed by the university president, with annual operations managed by a general manager drawn from the student body. The all-volunteer staff includes students, university employees, and community members. Despite its transmitter's modest height above average terrain of minus three meters, its elevation above sea level provides signal coverage across Stanford, Palo Alto, and surrounding flat regions. The station streams live in multiple simultaneous feeds and maintains a public request line.
