KVWM AM 970

A commercial talk radio station broadcasting at 970 AM in the White Mountains region of east-central Arizona. Owned by Petracom of Holbrook, LLC, a subsidiary of Petracom Media, the station has served the surrounding community since its founding in 1957 when station founder "Woody" Woodworth delivered the first words on air on May 17 of that year. The station launched with an easy listening format before transitioning to an oldies programming format in subsequent years. In 2004, the oldies programming was moved to Petracom's KSNX, and KVWM adopted a NewsTalk format, which it has carried ever since. The station brands itself as "The Giants of Talk" and provides news and talk content to listeners across the White Mountains area, a region encompassing mountain communities in the eastern Arizona highlands.
