A non-commercial educational radio station operated by the Mesquite Independent School District, broadcasting in HD Radio to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Founded in 1984 by former superintendent Dr. Ralph Poteet, the station provides hands-on radio experience for high school students enrolled in radio production classes across the district's five high schools. The 24-hour station airs live broadcasts of local high school sports and plays music primarily from the 1970s through 1990s. A secondary station in the North Texas Emergency Alert System, it broadcasts the U.S. National Anthem daily at 7 a.m. Named "Best Blast from the Past" in 2007 by the Dallas Observer, the station transmits from Mesquite Memorial Stadium with a highly directional signal providing strong coverage across Dallas County and eastern Metroplex cities.
