Dieser Radiosender bietet ein vielfältiges Programm.
A radio station pairing an AM license at 1390 kHz with an FM revitalization relay translator at 106.7 MHz, licensed to El Campo, Texas, and owned by Wharton County Radio, Inc. The station carries a country music format and serves the Rice Belt region of coastal southeast Texas. The station's origins date to January 8, 1947, when Louis Thurmond "Culp" Krueger filed an application with the FCC for a construction permit, joining with four partners to form the Wharton County Broadcasting Company. The call letters KULP were derived from the founder's nickname. The station signed on April 13, 1948, at 7 a.m. with five minutes of music followed by a news broadcast, becoming the first local radio station in the area. Early programming reflected the regional character of the Wharton County community, including a daily Polka Parade showcasing local and regional Czech polka bands, a genre deeply rooted in the area's Central European immigrant heritage. Live in-studio band performances were common in the early years. A notable feature of early programming was a morning segment hosted by Sheriff "Buckshot" Lane, who used the airwaves to urge individuals with outstanding warrants to turn themselves in voluntarily. Ownership transferred in 1967 to Bar-B Broadcasting, connected to the owner of the El Campo Leader-News, and the station has since remained under local ownership. Today the station continues to serve El Campo and surrounding Wharton County communities with country music and locally oriented programming.
