A commercial FM radio station broadcasting at 97.3 MHz under the brand "97.3 Nash FM," operated by Cumulus Media. The station originally signed on in February 1961 as KDMI under Richards & Associates, Inc., making it one of the rare stand-alone FM stations of an era when FM radio ownership was uncommon. From the 1970s through the early 1990s, KDMI broadcast a Christian radio format before being acquired by American Radio Systems in 1993. On January 7, 1994, the station launched a country music format under new call letters and the branding "97.3 KHKI, Hawkeye Country," a reference to the University of Iowa's team name. Over subsequent years the station rebranded through "The Hawk 97-3" and "97.3 The Hawk" before converting to the Nash FM format on May 24, 2013, as part of Cumulus Media's initiative to rebrand most of its country-formatted properties under the Nash FM umbrella. Studios are located in Urbandale, Iowa, alongside other Cumulus properties. The transmitter sits on Northwest 100th Street on the Grimes-Johnston border, operating at an effective radiated power of 105,000 watts — a grandfathered level above Iowa's typical FM station maximum — due to the station's history predating current power limits.
