Dieser Radiosender bietet ein vielfältiges Programm.

A student-run community radio station operated by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, broadcasting on 88.1 FM at 640 watts effective radiated power from the top of Building E37 in Kendall Square. The station is all-volunteer, funded through listener donations and MIT institutional support, and open to both MIT students and community members. Its board of trustees is the Technology Broadcasting Corporation, whose members are appointed by the MIT President. The station traces its origins to November 25, 1946, when it first signed on as WMIT with a carrier-current AM transmitter in the Ware entryway of Senior House dormitory, broadcasting over power lines at 800 kHz and later 640 kHz. Under FCC Part 15 regulations, the early operation required no license. In the mid-1950s, it emerged that WMIT was already assigned to a North Carolina station, leading the MIT station to adopt the call letters WTBS (Technology Broadcasting System). The station eventually transitioned to its current FM frequency and call sign WMBR. Programming spans a wide range of musical genres alongside talk shows and public affairs content, reflecting the eclectic format characteristic of college radio. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and streams live online. Volunteers may host programs, produce podcasts, maintain broadcast engineering infrastructure, or take part in station management and leadership. The station serves the Cambridge and greater Boston area.
