It broadcasts a talk format and is owned and operated by Hernando Broadcasting Company, Inc., with the broadcast license held by George S. Flinn, Jr. Studios and offices are located on West Fort Dade Avenue in Brooksville, while the transmitter sits off Ponce DeLeon Boulevard in Sugarmill Woods, Florida. The station's origins trace to February 2007, when broadcaster George S. Flinn, Jr. applied to the Federal Communications Commission for a construction permit on the Nature Coast. The FCC granted the permit on June 29, 2007. The station was first assigned the call letters WICE in September 2007, then changed to WWHF in November 2007. After construction and testing completed in June 2010, it received the current call sign WXJB on June 29, 2010, with the broadcast license granted on July 21, 2010. Weekday programming includes the Nature Coast Morning News, a locally produced information and interview program. The remainder of the schedule features nationally syndicated conservative talk programming. In 2015, the station received FCC approval to increase its effective radiated power to 25,000 watts, though that upgrade had not been implemented as of the available record.
