A non-commercial college radio station operating at 88.1 MHz, licensed to Bowling Green, Ohio, and owned by Bowling Green State University. The station was established in 1951, though its origins trace back further to a carrier current station known as WRSM that launched in January 1948 at 600 kHz, itself an outgrowth of a public address system used to broadcast a university basketball game in December 1947. Licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and affiliated with the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System in its early years, the station received its current FM license in November 1951 with 10 watts of effective radiated power. Over the subsequent decades, the station progressively upgraded its signal strength, studio facilities, and technical infrastructure. Programming focuses on independent, underground, and under-represented music, reflecting the student-run nature of the operation. The station serves as the flagship broadcaster for Bowling Green Falcons athletics, carrying hockey, women's basketball, and volleyball through the student-operated Falcon Media Sports Network.
