This station broadcasts golden hits from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, aiming to evoke musical memories for its listeners. The station's origins trace back to 1981 with plans for a Dutch-language broadcast using a transmitter intended for Radio Paradijs. These initial plans were not realized due to government intervention. In August 1983, the organization behind this station made contact with Ronan O'Rahilly of Radio Caroline. An agreement was reached in October 1984 to lease a 50 kW transmitter for daytime broadcasts, featuring Dutch-language programming. The venture was financed by Dutch and Belgian businessmen, along with the Canadian Lottery 6/49. Program production was handled by Music Media International, a company associated with Fred and Gerda Bolland, which operated legally by producing content for various legal radio stations in Belgium and Spain. Despite initial delays due to transmitter and antenna issues on the Ross Revenge, test broadcasts began on December 15, 1984, on the 963 kHz frequency. The station offers programming from 07:00 to 19:00.
