Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) is the public broadcasting corporation for the German state of Bavaria, headquartered at Rundfunkplatz 1 in Munich. The radio division operates eight distinct stations. Bayern 1 targets listeners over 35 with popular music and regional information. Bayern 2 is a spoken-word channel focused on news, documentaries, and cultural programming. Bayern 3 serves a younger audience with contemporary pop music. BR-Klassik is dedicated to classical music and live concert recordings. BR24 provides continuous news coverage, while PULS caters to younger listeners with alternative and independent music. BR Schlager focuses on German Schlager music, and BR Heimat broadcasts traditional Bavarian folk music and regional cultural content.

All stations are available via FM, DAB+ digital radio, and the BR Radio app, which provides live streams and on-demand content. BR is known for its strong commitment to regional journalism and Bavarian cultural programming, operating studios across the state.
